The 22-year-old forward is expected to make his mark in the top flight after impressing at the European Championships with England and scoring two goals during their Euro 2016 campaign.
Dhaka was born in Turkey but moved to Leicester when he was just six years old. He has played for the country’s youth teams since the age of nine and has been training with Leicester City under-18s since January last year.
He joins a squad that includes fellow Englishmen Ben Chilwell and Jamie Vardy, who both started their careers at Leicester before moving abroad.
Leicester manager Richard Livermore said: “We’re delighted to have Paterson join us this summer. We saw him play against his own country in Euro 2016 and we were really impressed with what he showed. He’s a talented player and we think he’ll be a great asset to our team.”
Dhaka added: "I’m really excited about the opportunity to join such a successful club like Leicester City. I’ve always wanted to play in the Premier League and I can’t wait to get started."
Leicester will face Crystal Palace in their first match of the season at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night. The game kicks off at 7:45pm GMT.
